Every so often, someone slides into my inbox with,
"Couldn't you just do it for this much [insert small amount here]?"
Or my personal favourite:

Now, when someone says "exposure," all I picture is a magazine centrefold—not exactly what I had in mind when I built my business. I get paid for my work because it's valuable. If you've ever been asked to reduce your price to "help out a mate," you'll know what I mean.
