What personal data we collect and why we collect it

When you buy from this website your personal information will be taken only so that we can ship the order to you. Payment information is NOT stored with us and is taken by our payment provider (such as Stripe or Paypal).

Personal information will also be given to us if you leave a comment or send us information through a contact form so that we can respond to your comments or queries. 

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

Visitors to the website are not allowed to upload images at this time.

Contact forms

This personal information that you enter is only used to send an email address to me so we can respond to your enquiry. We do not store that information on this website.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

Who we share your data with

We use service providers to help us to serve you better. These service providers include:

Google Analytics and Facebook Pixel – see above in Analytics section.
Mailerlite – You have a choice to sign up for an occasional newsletter which is sent out via Mailerlite. This means that mailerlite will have your name and email address.

Calendly – If you book an appointment such as a chocolate and a chat, we use the Calendly appointment system so you are entering your details into Calendly. Your details entered include your name, email address, your phone number, website address and may include a payment where needed. These details are kept with Calendly so that we can attend the appointment with you and help you with the service you selected.

Woocommerce – this plugin is used to provide you, our customers with an online shop where you can buy our products and services. 

While you visit our site, we’ll track:

  • Products you’ve viewed: we’ll use this to, for example, show you products you’ve recently viewed
  • Location, IP address and browser type: we’ll use this for purposes like estimating taxes and shipping
  • Shipping address: we’ll ask you to enter this so we can, for instance, estimate shipping before you place an order, and send you the order!

We’ll also use cookies to keep track of cart contents while you’re browsing our site.

When you purchase from us, we’ll ask you to provide information including your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number, credit card/payment details and optional account information like username and password. We’ll use this information for purposes, such as, to:

  • Respond to your requests, including refunds and complaints
  • Process payments and prevent fraud
  • Set up your account for our store

Xero – this is our accounting package and information about your order will be sent through to our accounting package so that we can accurately reflect business turnover and tax in accordance with Australian legislation.

Website backups

Website backups are taken using plugins and ManageWP so copies of your details will be retained offsite in case the website and your details need to be restored for us to continue our services to you.

Per the functionality of the backup plugins, backups of your website files and/or database are created and stored locally on your server and/or remotely on 3rd party servers based on the settings of this plugin. Archives can include, but are not limited to, file and database assets, including hashed passwords, 3rd party data, uploads and user information. These backups are stored to provide critical functionality of this plugin.

Website backups are also taken through ManageWP so that if one backup service (or restore) fails we have another one to continue our service to you, our customers.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Customers orders are kept for as long as needed in accordance with Australian tax laws.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Please note that we are outside the European Union and our business is are not aimed at customers in the European Union, so our services and services providers are outside the European Union.

Our website is protected by security plugins so that we try to keep your information secure by keeping our website secure.
